Arts & Crafts ConsultancyIn 1997 we responded to an increasing number of requests related to projects concerning the wider examination of the Arts and Crafts Movement. and initiated a new department to respond to those requests - Arts & Crafts Consultancy. One of our first undertakings was working with the Hotel Pattee in Iowa on the decoration of several guest and public rooms that celebrate the designers of the Arts and Crafts Movement. For Hometown Perry Iowa we developed a series of lectures, international conferences, exhibitions and educational programs. The decoration of the William Morris and Gustav Stickley rooms and the hotel's Board Room involved commissioning work by international contemporary craftspeople, acquiring original furniture and decorative arts, and organizing a number of individual and groups tours to study the roots of the Arts & Crafts Movement and meet contemporary craftspeople. Arts & Crafts Consultancy has organized three International Conferences, a number of exhibitions, and several one day events. Our principals are involved in and have worked with the William Morris Society in America, the American Friends of the Arts and Crafts in Chipping Campden, the Society of Architectural Historians, and the Lenox Athenaeum. Arts & Crafts Consultancy's expert advisers and consultants in the United States and abroad work closely with Arts & Crafts Tours to develop individualized programs for organizations and institutions that expand the knowledge of the richness of the Arts and Crafts Movement and forge lasting alliances and collaborations around the world. |
